The National Committee for Vocational Training (LAB) is a legally provided, advisory committee in the State of Saxony. With its advisory activity, LAB has already contributed significant ideas for the design of the Saxonian VET policy in the past 22 years.
The LAB is an equally represented committee of 18 members and 18 deputy members (each with 6 representatives of employers, employees, and highest regional authorities, as well as an equal amount of deputy members). Half of the representatives of the highest regional authorities have to be experts in matters of education.
The appointment period is four years. The current sixth appointment period started 9 November 2011 and will end in November 2015.
