Meeting of the
Advisory Committee for Vocational Training of the European Commission
Organizer: European Commission
Date: Tuesday, 2 July and Wednesday, 3 July
The German dual vocational training system receives much political encouragement on a European level because of its practice-orientation due to on-job training, its resulting proximity to economy and employment market as well as its resulting comparatively low youth unemployment.
The Directorate General Education and the Directorate General Employment of the European Commission have announced the implementation of a “EU Alliance for Apprenticeship“ in this context. This novel EU initiative will be launched officially on 2 July with high-ranking commission agents and EU member states’ delegates in Leipzig.
In addition, the meeting of the Advisory Committee for Vocational Training (BABB) of the European Union (EU) took place on 2-3 July, during WorldSkills Leipzig 2013.
