International vocational competitions - such as WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 (WSL) make the quality, innovations, the future viability, and the significance of vocational training visual and easily experienced. The Conference for Vocational Training "Skilling the Future VET and workplace learning for economic success" - a joint venture by BMBF and the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) on 4-5 July had the goal to convey the significance of vocational training in specific segments such as on-job training to an international specialised public and make national modernizations of vocational training profit from the international wealth of experience.
