Amelia Addis

Amelia runs her own floristry business called Botanica. She specializes in weddings and events. She started her career in floristry at the very bottom when she took a part time job when she was still at school.

She says WorldSkills has had a huge impact in her life, “Without WorldSkills I would not be in the position I’m in now. I was lucky enough to have an amazing expert who acted as my floristry mentor. WorldSkills gave me confidence in my own ability. The environment is extremely positive and supportive which allows young people to push themselves to be the best they can be.”

Amelia’s dream is to grow her business so she can take on and train lots of apprentices. She says that in this way skills change lives, “Skills give people a real opportunity to create an interesting, creative, fulfilling life. We create beautiful moments for people, we can run businesses and provide for our families.”
