Location: Maritime Museum
After the first conference day, we will visit Het Scheepvaartmuseum for the official conference dinner. And what is a day in Amsterdam without a cruise through the canals? We will board one of the beautiful canal boats and float down to the museum.
The museum is located near the city old harbor. Built in 1656, the former national naval warehouse was once used by the Dutch navy to store sails, ropes, weapons and ammunition. Since 1973 it has been home to the museum. Notably, the famous replica of the Dutch East India Company ship ‘Amsterdam’ is moored at the museum.
During the recent renovation the inner courtyard has been covered by a glass roofing, creating a pleasant space for the visitors. In the evening hundred of tiny LED lights placed between shields of glass, give an impression of the starry sky.

keynoteProf. Dr. Paul KirschnerGetting ready for the uncharted territory of tomorrow's jobs
Location: Grand Ballroom
While people are preaching 21st century skills, generic skills, and so forth the basis for getting ready for tomorrow’s jobs is to first create a solid foundation of knowledge and skills. Once this has been done, it is the task of the school to help students acquire an attitude through proper instructional techniques, that what they have learned isn’t enough for today’s challenges – let alone tomorrow’s – so that they will be able to learn and improve and change throughout their lifetimes.

dinnerConference Dinner
Location: Bierfabriek
The second day we conclude with a visit to the Bierfabriek Amsterdam. This place in the heart of Amsterdam is a brewery and restaurant in one, accommodated in a cosy no nonsense building. They brew their own beer and serve Burgundian dishes. In the Netherlands they are world famous for their signature dish: the delightfully grilled chicken on a charcoal BBQ.
It is a place where you as a visitor feel at home immediately. You are allowed to pull your own beer, eat the chicken with your hands and throw the peeled peanuts on the ground. But there is of course also cutlery available as you whish.
