Jens Bjornavold

Jens Bjornavold has worked with European and international education and training issues since the mid-1990s and has held posts both in the European Centre for Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) and the European Commission. He is currently the Brussels representative of Cedefop. Bjornavold has coordinated and carried out numerous research projects, notably on national qualifications frameworks and the changing roles of qualifications and validation of non-formal and informal learning. He has been involved in the development and implementation of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) from the start in 2004. He is currently coordinating research on the “Future of vocational education and training in Europe”, covering 30 countries.
