Attracting higher education for more VET trained craftspeople
Marieke Gervers studied spatial design and got her master’s degree in Cross-over Creativity at the Utrecht University of Arts. She worked as a designer, tv producer and theatre production manager all over the world. Ten years ago she started working at a VET College in Amsterdam (ROC van Amsterdam) as a team manager and fell in love with this type of education and training, the student population and got convinced of their value for our economy and society. Since four years she has her own innovation platform (a practoraat) Creative Craftsmanship at ROC van Amsterdam where she fulfills her ambition to create higher education especially designed for VET trained craftspeople in the Netherlands.
