Dr. Paulo Moekotte

Dr. Paulo Moekotte (1959) works as a Research Associate (Practor) in Media Literacy for four VET institutions in Amsterdam (Mediacollege Amsterdam, HMC Amsterdam, MBO College West-ROC van Amsterdam and ROC TOP) – ‘Practoraat Mediawijsheid’ and as a Senior Education Policy Advisor at the ROC van Twente, a regional VET-college. He started his career as a teacher in Dutch language, ICT’s and Insurances. As education policy advisor he acquired considerable experience on the role of technology in strategic, organizational and educational development of secondary vocational education. Addressing the possible futures of teaching and learning ranged from the level of institutional quality care and accreditation to curriculum design and pedagogical innovation. In 2016 he completed his PhD-research on the empowering influence of media literacy on the social and economic participation of the low skilled and low educated.
